The Basilan PNP Tennis Club after a fresh win in the 3rd 2008 Inter-Club Tennis Tournament held at the Basilan PNP Tennis Club last November22, 2008, again won the over-all championship in the 4th 2008 Inter-Club Tennis Tournament held last December 6, 2008 at the Isabela Menzi Tennis Club, Isabela City, Basilan. A total of 88 players from the different tennis clubs in Basilan participates in this quarterly inter-club tennis tournament. The Basilan PNP Tennis Club garnered a total of 8 wins and 3 loses. First runner-up with a total of 7 wins and 4 loses went to the Isabela Menzi Tennis Club, second runner-up went to the Ustadz Wahab Akbar Tennis Club with 6 wins and 5 loses and the third runner-up went to the Lamitan Tennis Clubs with 1 win and 10 loses. The Ustadz Wahab Akbar Tennis Club won the previous first and second quarter championships.The quarterly inter-club tennis tournament aims to develop competitive advantage of tennis players from Basilan against tennis players from other places. It also aims to promote tennis sports as well as develop friendly and cordial relationship among tennisters in Basilan. (ray lintag)
